  • High concentrations of CO and NO2 cause irritation and burning. Wash your eyes frequently with cold water to avoid infection or put prescribed eye drops only. Avoid using any other liquid in your eye pockets.

  • Shield your eyes with glasses whenever you step out of the house. Glasses act as a shield and block smoke, dirt, and debris from going into the eyes.

  • Switch to spectacles, avoid using contact lenses. If you wish to use contacts, make sure the lenses are clean and scratch-free.

  • Consume foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants such as fish, green leafy vegetables, carrots, nuts, and berries which are extremely good for the eyes.
